Good Day Sunshite

That came out wrong, and I’ve decided to leave it.
Just a brief update on what’s up. I’ve re-loaded SideProject-Comic.com, and it’s not pretty. Don’t judge me. I’ll maek pretty soon.
Still on the hunt for gainful employment- if anyone wants to pay me to be silly, I’m available.
Jealous of all those who went to E3 and played with the new shininess. Also, the Scott Pilgrim party last night. That would have been fun too. Guess SDCC will have to suffice.
F**k Blogger and their dropping of FTP publishing. I now have to come up with a fix to be able to post on KTTC. It’ll probably involve either completely redoing the pages, or some minor tweaking to the links. Looks like I’m installing Dreamweaver again.
Anyways, be excellent to each other for now.

Musings in Green

Mac asked me last night who my favorite Green Lantern is. Interestingly enough, I’d been asked the same question back in October, at BD’s birthday pool and beer extravaganza. While my answer to the first instance of the question was reasonably short- I was explaining it to a fellow GL fan-boy- when Mac asked, it turned into a Brodie-esque explanation of GL history for the last 15 years.
I explained that, in a spat of DC’s “let’s replace our regular Silver Age Heroes with Extreme! youngbloods” action, Hal Jordan went zippo-bonkers after Coast City was destroyed by Mongul and Cyborg-Superman (I left out their details, no need to get that deep into it), his subsequent evolution-via-CPB absorption, and Ganthet’s passing of the torch to Kyle Rayner. Who, in the next few years, became a heavy hitter in the DCU, and garnered a respectable fanbase of his own, before Geoff Johns’ hard-on for the Silver Age came along to resuscitate Hal and all that jazz in 2005’s GL: Rebirth.
So, my bottom line to her was, that while I was indoctrinated into comics with Hal Jordan as the best and greatest Green Lantern, Kyle has a special place in my fan-boyism, and that part of me is sad to see him shoved aside along with Guy Gardner and the rest of the GLC.
But at least he’s fared better than John Stewart, who was supposed to be the JLA’s resident GL. Now, he’s just a footnote.
She responded kindly that I get long winded with these things. She has no idea.

Quick Stop Thoughts
by Tach on Jan.08, 2010, under Nothing Specific
So yesterday at the store I saw 2 check-out mags with the cast of “Jersey Shore” somewhere on the covers. Now, first off, I can’t believe they have these Neanderthals on television, let alone that People magazine is doing a story on them. Secondly, what the hell, people? I really want to smack some people with a rolled up newspaper like a dog who just dropped a steamer on the living room rug.
NO! *whap*. NO!
He knows what he did.
